Brings a tear to my eye. Look at those guards, look at that right tackle getting to the next level. Look at that running back not dance in the backfield and lose a yard.

It seems we ran more read option yesterday than we had all season.

Why were we more successful?  Because we played with pace.  Got to the line of scrimmage quickly.  Gave Cam options to audible to.

Oh... and the O-line wasn't losing double teams and therefore were getting to the second level.

We did the things we need to do to run a read option heavy offense successfully

Hell yeah!  Newton selling the read-option and holding the end just long enough, Kalil and Remmers in the second level, Turner and Norwell turning their guys away from the play, Bell getting his hands on a guy less than 6 yards in the backfield.  You can see Olsen, Cotch, and Philly getting good blocks as well.  Great execution.

This could be used as an instructional video for how to properly use the read option.

Tackle and guard blow up the DT and take him out,  that allows Remmers to block next level,  Cam blocks 74 (or is that 94?), Olsen clears out outside guy.

Defense never had a chance on this play

Everybody has critcized those 'outrageous' triple options with Cotch in the backfield... Well that was the play on Stewart's TD run. Maybe Shula ain't as bad as we thought when the players are executing... That or the Saints are just THAT bad.

what was KB doing?

selling a screen pass so the CB/LB stays to the outside and doesn't get involved in the play.

edit, coulda been the LB he was trying to lure, but basically it looks like he's trying to keep 1 defender out of the mix with the fake (no one in particular maybe).

    • Jack Roslovic: Only 2 other UFA, right-handed centers age 28 or under had more points (39) than him- Sam Bennett (51) and Pius Suter (46). There were 4 other centers age 33 and older who scored more: Gireaux (37), Marchand (37), Tavares (34), Granlund (33).  Unless the Canes go old, if they let Jack walk, they won't get a center who scored more.  Thoughts?
    • nope     This is why we come back every year.  Hope springs eternal
    • It's important to differentiate criticism and hate. I can't speak for that individual you quoted. But most people who have been critical of the Tepper's have been so because both of them have made it a point to put themselves front and center and in the middle of team operations and we have been largely horrific more often than not as a result. If people are making derogatory remarks about her that should be met with an appropriate response but if people are being defensive just because she's being criticized all I can say is people should get used to it. Both her and David would have been getting absolutely skewered by the media and the fans if this were a big market franchise. The Lakers are finally being sold off after years and years of public criticism of Jeannie Buss and even though I'm the furthest you could go from being a Lakers fan just about anyone you could meet who is familiar with the NBA would say the criticism was certainly valid.
